Researching the Map: Far Cry 4

Though I prefer the old tea-stained paper look, the map for Far Cry 4 is still very impressive. Its a very different style but has been very well laid out and easy to read, considering where what animals wonder, different roads and paths, and various locations explored and un explored depending how far through the game the player is. They have very well considered social communities to game via notes scattered around the island to find out various opinions on the events occurring on the island. The 2D map also contains Fortress', outposts, radio towers and 'important locations' which the player can go and explore, adding an element of mystery to the game. I would say though I prefer the style of the 2D Skyrim map, the Far Cry 4 2D map is far better executed.

The landscape is also beautifully designed in game, with colour being used exceptionally well, specifically Shangri La.
