By Meg Sugden
During the first brief for our
project we were given our module overview
which included when we are in and what certain things we would be doing
on those days. Around this overview I wanted to fill in the blanks with
a schedule that included what I would be doing in this time and how
much I will need to have done by certain points. Due to my time keeping
at the end of the project that had just finished I wanted to be able to
show improvement by getting things done on time for this one. Due to the
fact that for this project we are working in teams of 3 some of my
weeks will only be spent overseeing other parts and merely helping
generate more ideas in the out of uni time which is in italics
underneath
Week 1: Briefing and initial idea generation for character design and story
Decide on a theme and develop character image and story
Week 2: Workshop tutorial on biped modelling in Maya and UV Mapping recap
Complete initial research into background information and existing companies and people
Week 3: Self directed study
Complete concept art for character and environment
Week 4: Workshop tutorial on rigging a character
Complete character turn arounds
Week 5: Workshop tutorial on animating a character in Unity
Complete technical drawings of environments and props
Week 6: Self directed study
Complete storyboards and animatics
Week 7: Interim crit and studio development with feedback
Ensure all tutorials are in a show reel, and ensure everything is complete for the interim crit
Week 8: Studio development with feedback

Week 9: Easter holiday self directed study
Complete texturing the character and environment
Week 10: Easter holiday self directed study
Animate the character and ensure everything works in the environment with lighting
Week 11: Easter holiday self directed study
Create an interactive turntable for each character and create a walk, run and jump cycle
Week 12: Setting up cameras in Unity and audio workshop
Set up the cameras to record the footage for the film and edit it together
Week 13: Final crit and study support
Finish creating the film and work on audio
Week 14: Deadline
Ensure everything is ready for hand in with a finished evaluation
I
then planned out a schedule for the group so that we know where we need
to be at all stages of production and also so that I could compare this
estimated one to an actual one at the end to ensure that I have kept on
track with my time keeping skills.
