Environment: Technical drawings.

By Stuart Brown

Here I drew elevations of the environment so it becomes easier to understand it from a modelling aspect. the mud huts are actually far smaller than the aboriginal ones were, but this is due to animals the size of a Duck Billed Platypus building them, which means the trees look far larger than normal trees. There is water visible as the background for approximately 66% of the back drop, this I felt would make a nice effect as the environment would fade out rather than stop immediately and a soft mist could be added to help this effect.

The floor plan also helps visualize the environment, with the food trail being more obvious now leading to the tipi like mud hut. It also helps modelling as it could be placed in Maya and seen in the top down view.

I followed these and made schematics so that the modeler can grasp a clear understanding of the scale of all these objects. The creates and barrels may seem large for Bill Platypus, but the idea is that they have been salvaged from a ship wreck that was pirated by larger anthropomorphic animals, that would have been approximately human size.
