Analyising video game Machinima and the effect it has on the story - Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is a game that I feel captured Machinma perfectly. The voice acting is brilliant and uses engaging dialogue due to the uniqueness and huge differences between the lead interacting characters. The cinematics aren't too long, and aren't too short, can be skipped if wanted and if so, other characters often tell you what to do throughout the level if you are unsure. They are the same quality graphics as the gameplay, merging them perfectly by often having the dialogue flow into the game usually between two characters on a long horse back journey to give the player something else to listen to while playing, and also strengthening character relationships and giving them depth, all while not being too long, dull, or distracting to the rest of the game.

Red Dead Redemption displays a well thoughtout and exucuted story, a great range of  character archetypes and personalities helping build an in depth detailed world in its cinematics while having fantastic gameplay that isn't delayed or missed because of these cinematics.
