The Blackwater Gospel

The Blackwater Gospel is an animation that uses 3D modeled, textured and rigged characters with background art work, VFX to create and animation containing elements of Machinima. It was a
Bachelor film project 2011 from The Animation Workshop, directed by Bo Mathorne. It is arguably my favorite piece of animation, do to its unique visual style, voice acting and music. The style is in my opinion, its strongest aspect. The texturing is done in such a way that it looks like a moving drawing, and could be fooled as a stop motion piece. This also helps it settle into the illustrated backgrounds and with the use of VFX, given a smokey screen plate. The texturing has a very hand drawn feel, and added to a computer generated model really makes a concept drawing come to life with the concept artist's unique style. This is a element I hope to achieve with the texturing of our group project.
