London Super Comic Con Filming

For the Competition/live brief we had to do as part of our University module we were contacted by the organiser of London Super Comic Con after he had seen our second year visual effects and animation module films, based on Iron man and Thor.

We agreed to do the brief, but did feel somewhat under-qualified in this field as we had often directed our movies, but didn't have much camera operating skills, and had extremely little faith in the AV suite. So feeling like this brief may be more than we could handle alone, we asked for help in the form of digital production company Medusa, who we knew from experience where very professional, skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to film production. I had organised coaches down from Leeds Coach station to London Victoria Coach station, but as it turned out Medusa had also managed to provide travel for the crew. They made a list of all the necessary equipment we would need, while our bosses provided over night accommodation. Medusa, along with hiring a movi, also brough radio's so we could quickly contact eachother across the Excel which came in extremly useful when trying to orgaise shoots, particularly the two which required approximatly 250 - 300 cosplayers. We talked about who should be doing what, and concluded that the two most expierence members of the team should film with the best cameras (the Black Magic and the Ursa), and me and Callum would use the 5D's to capture additional footage and extra footage for some behind the scenes videoes for their company.

Some of the shots I took, or helped organise, are screengrabbed below.
