Environments: Concept Art

By Stuart Brown

This is the final concept art for the environment. I am proud of this as although I don't think the drawing is particularly amazing, alot of though has gone into it, even though it won't be explained in the final piece. For example:

The hammock hanging from the tree is where the possum character would sleep, as she would be more comfortable high from the ground. as she is the partner of platypus Bill, there is a ladder going up the tree so he can get up the tree and see her, as Platypus' aren't good climbers.

There is also a slope so the Platypus can easily access the water, but a fence around the edge for the safety of the rest of the tribe.

There is also a hole in the ground for more tunnel dwelling creatures such as moles, with a flag so other animals don't fall down.

There is a trail of rubbish and eaten food (such as fish skeletons) leading to a more tipi like mud hut where the raccoon his hiding. I placed this here as resembling a tipi, it seems where he might go as it it further out the way, near a forest (his natural habitat) and would remind him of home.

There is even a burnt out fire in the center of the village where the village people would cook their food, and and barrels and creates (signature game assets) to give it a more lived in feel. I though the tribe could have gotten this from a nearby Shipwreck as my map displayed in an earlier post.
