Researching the North: Frozen

Another film set in the snowy north is Frozen, set in Norway. Frozen is a fantastically designed film, with many of the designs looking spectacular and very beautiful. Understanding its a Disney princess film, to use as inspiration it does look too much like a Disney princess film for the tone I want to achieve. It is very pretty, and sparkly, which doesn't feel and violent and oppressing as the kind of world I want to see in my North. The best image of this selection I feel is the last one, with Anna and Christoph running toward each other in front of the huge ship, as this gets a daunting and powerful scale and atmosphere.
