Shoot 3 + 4: Risk Assesment

Student filming at Stoodley Pike 9:00am – 12:00pm and Bride Stone rocks 1:00pm – 4:00pm Thursday 12th of December 2013.


What are the risks?
Who might be harmed and how?
What are you doing to prevent this?
Do you need to do anything else to manage this risk?
Cuts and scratches.
Actors fighting.
Actors will be in leather costumes to give some protection. Plasters will be provided on set. Fight sequence will be practiced and choreographed.
If too windy fight sequence will not take place on rocks.
Rain
Equipment getting wet.
Keep unused equipment in bags, also use plastic bags and umbrella to cover camera.
No.
Wind
Crew and equipment.
If too windy the crane will not be used.
No.
Slippery rocks.
Actors and crew
If rocks are slippery I will judge if they are safe to film and fight on.
If not suitable film on nearby grass, or composite them on.
Boom Mike could fall on somebody.
Cast and crew.
Boom Mike will only be held when filming is happening to minimise tiring arms. If arms are tiring another team member will take over.
Crew back up in place.
Equipment going missing .
College resources .
Member of crew – as designated watcher.
At least one member of crew will always stay with the equipment. Equipment will be check on arrival and leaving each location.
Vigilance by all crew + final review upon completion of activity
Manual handling
Cast and crew, members of the public , LeedsMet staff
Equipment is mainly digital  recording - camera’s and audio.
Boom microphone/tripods and camera track will also be used.

Equipment will be shared via film crew and be within their lifting capability. Lift available for movement of equipment from street level to sub level 2 of the car park.
SB to ensure no-one is carrying too much. Take due care of any others persons present in the lift/car par areas.
SB to oversee movement of items.
